YearMap is a free academic calendar tool for UK schools. Set your term dates and INSET days, and bank holidays are added automatically while pupil days are calculated for you, then export to PDF or ICS in seconds.
Explore YearMap for creating a complete UK school calendar: build your school calendar, plan your academic year, and check your pupil days in one place.

Education Account Required
By signing in, you confirm that you are using an official Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account provided by an educational institution, and that you are authorised to use YearMap on behalf of that institution.
We may check eligibility at any time. If we reasonably believe that a user or organisation is not part of the education sector, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate access.
Then one thing changes…
and everything has to be reworked.
It's repetitive and time-consuming. And yet, most schools just push through it every year. With YearMap, everything is in one place, so next time you can simply update it and export again in minutes.
It shouldn't be this complicated
Every formula that snaps, every shared drive conflict, every "which version is this?" moment costs precious admin time.
Manually entering dates across documents means one typo can cascade into wrong calendars shared with parents and governors.
Without a structured tool, schools repeat the same setup work every year, right when staff bandwidth is at its lowest.
Checking you've hit your statutory 190 days shouldn't involve a calculator and three windows open at once.
Every hour spent wrestling a school calendar is an hour not spent on the things that actually matter. YearMap handles the structure so you can focus on your school.
What YearMap does
Eight features that cover the full lifecycle, from building your year plan to getting it in front of the right people.
Autumn, spring and summer terms laid out clearly, with half-terms, INSET days, and closures all living in a single structured view.
Click a day, pick a type, done. No formulas, no formatting, no fighting with merged cells. It takes seconds per entry.
YearMap tracks your statutory 190 days as you build, so you always know exactly where you stand. No manual arithmetic needed.
Generate a print-ready PDF for noticeboards and letters home, or an ICS file so staff and parents can subscribe directly in their calendar app.
England & Wales bank holidays are pre-loaded, so you never have to look them up or enter them by hand.
No installation, no IT department required, no waiting for a procurement approval. If you can open a website, you can use YearMap.
Sign in via your existing Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account. Your credentials never touch our servers, and we only store the minimum needed to run your calendar.
Invite colleagues to view or edit a calendar. Particularly useful for multi-academy trusts wanting a consistent approach across sites.
How it works
No manual to read, no training session to book. A short guided wizard walks you through each step: just answer the prompts and your calendar builds itself.
Use your school's Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account. No separate password, no new account to create.
A simple step-by-step wizard guides you through term dates, INSET days, bank holidays, and categories, all in one place.
Your calendar is ready to export as PDF or ICS and share with staff, governors, and parents in seconds.
About YearMap
01 / 03
We kept seeing the same workaround in UK schools: a shared spreadsheet, usually inherited from whoever had the job before, gradually accumulating errors and formatting debt. When we looked for a proper solution, we found nothing. No purpose-built tool existed for generating a school year calendar you could actually distribute. So we built one.
Privacy & Security
We know schools think carefully about which tools they allow staff to use. Here's an honest, plain-English explanation of how YearMap handles your data and why we believe the way we've built it speaks for itself.
YearMap uses Single Sign-On (SSO) via your existing Google or Microsoft school account. This means you sign in using the same trusted credentials your school already manages. We have absolutely no involvement in storing, handling, or even receiving your password at any point.
Authentication is handled entirely by Google and Microsoft's own secure systems. It's the same technology used by thousands of enterprise organisations globally, and it means one less password to manage.
YearMap holds the minimum data required to run the service: your school name, your email address, your calendar events, and your configuration settings. Nothing more. We don't collect personal pupil data, staff details, or anything beyond what's needed for the calendar to work.
We don't store passwords because we never receive them. We don't store data we don't need, because collecting it would create risk without reason. Data minimisation isn't a checkbox for us. It's how the system was designed from the ground up.
Because sign-in uses your school's existing Google or Microsoft account, your IT administrator already has full visibility and control. You can revoke YearMap's access at any time directly through your school's account settings, with no need to contact us.
Your school year should be planned,
not pieced together.
Give your admin team a tool that actually matches how schools work, and reclaim the time spent fighting software that was never built for education.
